95MM MAF SYSTEM FOR 2001-2004 LIGHTNING and HARLEY DAVIDSON TRUCKS

Owners of 01-04 Lightning trucks looking for an extra 30 HP gain without overdriving the blower or cutting up the exhaust system now have the option of purchasing our new Lightning power package for these vehicles. Very similar to the popular 50HP package that we sell for the 99-00 Lightning models, this new kit comes with an all-new 95mm air meter assembly with K&N filter, mounting bracket and all necessary hardware, as well as a custom tuned Superchips computer module. The 01-03 Lightning vehicles were given a higher horsepower rating for these years (versus the 99-00 models) due to the fact that Ford revised the computer program to deliver a very lean 13:1 air/fuel ratio from the factory. The 99-00 Lightnings came from the factory with a much richer 11:1 air/fuel ratio. The ideal air/fuel ratio for a supercharged vehicle is typically 12.25:1, depending on the timing level and octane quality of the fuel.

Since some of the power gain of our 99-00 kit was delivered by adjusting the air/fuel ratio to a more ideal level, there was more horsepower to be achieved on those applications. This is why the 01-04 package offers customers a 30 rear wheel HP difference instead of the 50 HP that 99-00 models receive. This increase in power is delivered with a safer air/fuel ratio, as it has been adjusted through the chip to go from a stock 13:1 level to a more ideal 12.2:1.
Track testing of this package on a completely stock 2002 Lightning dropped the 1/8th mile ET's by .57 seconds with a trap increase of 4.5 MPH. The 95mm mass airflow package is available separately, but dyno testing has shown a larger gain is achieved from the air meter with the chip installed (17HP) than without (7-10HP). If you already own a Superchip module, we would be happy to re-program yours to our dyno developed profile. Other brands of chips may be used with this air meter package, but we can not guarantee an exact level of performance when using them with the 95mm system.
